Who we are

We cannot talk about equitable education without addressing the inequities in instruction. Understanding that parents have a choice in their child’s education highlights the need for greater support to all who provide instruction to children.

I started teaching with no background or experience in education. For six years in a private, Christian school, I copied my teaching partner’s lesson plans and followed the curriculum as it was written. I never received professional development. I was never taught “best practices.”

While it was a necessary move, I continued my teaching journey in public education. Unaware of how much I didn’t know that I didn’t know, I consumed every kind of professional development I could. I got certified in ESE, Reading K-12, ESOL, Gifted, K-5 Education, Middle Grade Math 5-9, and even earned my Master’s in Education Leadership from the University of Central Florida.

In 2019, I began coaching teachers who wanted to be coached. My new calling was in teaching teachers. I coached teachers across my district of 30,000 students. I wrote explicit math curriculum to reach as many teachers as I could and supported its implementation. In 2022, I pursued an opportunity to provide professional learning and curriculum creation for a private company serving teachers and administrators across the country.

My hope is to bring my learning experiences to the teachers and parents who may have limited access to professional learning opportunities or who just need support for their students.
